SE-CFM History

The South Eastern Coral Farmers MarketSM (SE-CFM) event was initially developed during 2009. The same business partners that own and operate the Coral Farmers Market SM , the SouthWestern Coral Farmers MarketSM , the Bay Area Coral Farmers MarketSM , the Inland Empire Coral Farmers MarketSM the Northwestern Coral Farmers MarketSM and the Dallas Fort Worth Coral Farmers MarketSM , (Art Petit and Steve Tyree), both own and operate this SE-CFM event company. The South Eastern Coral Farmers MarketSM is a separate and distinct company. Both Art and Steve had been looking into developing an east coast Coral Farmers MarketSM event ever since we successfully established the Dallas Fort Worth Coral Farmers MarketSM event. The DA-CFM event is a two day trip from our home base in southern California and this gave us experience developing the infrastructure to support an event a long distance from our support base location. We were initially drawn into the Orlando area by the encouragement and support offered by Victor and Lou of World Wide Corals located in Orlando Florida.

The CFM event schedule now places our first show of the year down south in Southern California during the end of winter (SW-CFM). Our second show now occurs during the latter part of spring in Central Florida (SE-CFM). The third show of the year occurs right at the end of summer and we are using a floating schedule for that event. That event will occur in the North Western US area (NW-CFM or BA-CFM). We follow the end of summer event with an early fall event once again in the Southern California area (IE-CFM). We then end the coral farming annual growing season during late fall in the Dallas Fort Worth area (DA-CFM). The South Eastern Coral Farmers Market SM event is all about bringing coral farmers and coral aquarists together to conduct free market exchanges. Once inside the event, the buying public is free to conduct business directly with participating coral farmers. The main revenue sources include the leasing of booth space to retailers, the selling of event tickets to the public, the selling of event raffle tickets during the event and the charging of event auction fees during the event. We believe that this South Eastern Coral Farmers Market SM event will eventually become a very large and prestigious coral farming event. The SE-CFM company also supports local reefing communities and online internet communities. We have invited some local Reef Clubs to participate with MidScale booths.
